Great Learning Starts Here

Background

Many experiences steered me toward  becoming an educator.  First, many members of my family were educators.  Early in life, their morals and ethics impressed me.  They demonstrated the characteristics that I wanted to strive to achieve.  Next, when growing up, I always wanted to role play being a teacher. However, the most important reason that I pursued a path in education was a deep desire to fight for individuals that can’t fight for themselves.  This desire led me to the path of becoming a special education teacher.  Eventually, I enrolled in college, and began my path to becoming a teacher.  The reason that I continue in the field of education is because of my students.

 Educational Journey

Enrolling in a Master of Science in Education      (MSED)  program has been a long time goal. The program aligns with my professional commitment to advancing my expertise in educational practices.   As a lifelong learner, I crave knowledge. The knowledge gained will deepen my understanding of pedagogical theories, curriculum development, and instructional strategies.   By pursuing this advanced degree, it will enhance my ability to address diverse learning needs, integrate innovative teaching methods, and contribute to meaningful educational leadership.

Professional Vision

As a Special educator pursuing a Master’s degree, one aims to cultivate an inclusive and equitable learning environment.  I am committed to advancing evidence-based practices, fostering individualized support, and advocating for the diverse needs of exceptional learners.  Through collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional development, I strive to empower students with unique abilities, ensuring their full potential and becoming active contributors to society.

Mission

I plan to be an agent of change in the educational community by pursuing a master's degree at Walden University to stay abreast of current evidence-based practices and ensure that expertise in education supports learning for students.  Networking with other professionals will be an ongoing practice to build a supportive network.  Advocating for inclusive and equitable practices will help students receive equitable treatment.  I will continue to foster community partnerships and raise awareness.  Reflection will be a regular part of  the instructional routine,  and  strategies will be adapted to improve student learning.
